Jerry Baldwin was born in Iowa and raised in the Badlands of South Dakota.

Before entering the U.S. Navy, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and grew to respect nature and the
outdoors, as the result of a friend and mentor, Orville Sandall. Later, when Jerry discovered photography, he learned to shoot with his camera rather than a rifle.

His aspirations as a photographer have turned to wildlife and their natural habitats, resulting in
greater appreciation of the ecosystem.

Locations for his photography include the Midway Atoll National Wildlife Refuge and many Western

While studying under Jeff Broome, and reviewing the works of wildlife photographers Thomas
Mangelsen and Frans Lanting, he found new inspiration ~ capturing the poetry of light and shadow of
wildlife behavior.

One of his goals is to create his own fine art gallery collection of wildlife and nature photography to share with his grandchildren.

The following are links to friends, ideas and tools that have been inspirational
and pivotal in Jerry's pursuit of his photography
and capturing the Poetry of Light and Shadow
